Condo Security Begins With Good Communication

Limiting risk to our condominium and ensuring condo security hinges on open lines of communication between each and every resident and the management. That is why the PMO will host a Security Forum to work together to make our security in ATC stronger.

For those of you that have been following our website and the JMC Meeting Minutes, you are aware that three key areas of our security systems will be discussed at the next Annual General Meeting (AGM) on June 16th, 2012. These areas are:

  • Reviewing solutions for rectifying our Intercom system and deciding on appropriate actions.
  • Reviewing solutions for rectifying our Boom Gate System and deciding on appropriate actions.
  • Reviewing new access/residents cards.
It is at the AGM, that the owners will decide what steps that they would like to undertake to remedy these above areas and agree to a budget so that it can be implemented.  Outside of these areas, there are many other things that we can do as a community and this Security Forum should address some of your concerns.

As part of the PMO's communication, we feel that the residents have a right to be notified of every break-in or attempted break-in in a timely manner after a police report has been made. In our notification to the residents we will give the general information pertaining to the security breach and we will never provide the name of a resident nor their unit number to protect their privacy. The PMO and Security will assist the police in their investigation. There may be an occasion when the police request that we do NOT make public an event, as it may impede their ongoing investigation.

Let's work together to build solutions for a better secure environment.  The date of the Security Forum will be posted at a later date.
